Cairns is a great place to start a tropical campervan trip through Queensland. From Cairns you can easily explore the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation and the Atherton Tablelands.

Renting a campervan in Cairns makes the most sense if you want nature, snorkeling, rainforest and warm weather all in one trip. Keep in mind that northern Australia, Cairns included, has its wet season during the Australian summer.
